Are you sure it's the motions that are showing open? If they are setup correctly (as a type 05 - Home/Away Zone), then you'll be able to arm the system even if they are open.
The only other possibility is that you have EOL enabled and don't have the resistors on the zones.

: Hello, I have a PC5010 with a LCD5500 keypad. I have only two motion connectors hooked up right now with no door contects. I try to arm the system and it always fails stating to close the zones first. I each motion wired up to a seperate zone. Any suggestions why the zones say they are open (btw motion detectors are not picking up any movement when the system is being armed.....so they should be in a closed state
