I have a 4204 attached to a Vista-50P via the keypad's data wires, green and yellow. The power for the relay is coming from an Altronix power supply. I want to run 4 strobe lights, 2 off relay 1 and 2 off relay 2 on the 4204. My programming seems to be good, but the relays will not work.
My question concerns the wiring of the relays. They are each labeled C, NO, and NC. NC appears to be the rest position. Stupidly, the manual's closest description of what I want them to do is "stay closed", which I assume means, "stay activated". Bass-ackwards. So here's what I did: I took a jumper from the DC+ lead on the power supply and ran it to "C". Then I attached the positive wire from my strobes to the "NO" terminal. I ran the negative wire from the strobes to the DC- lead on the power supply. Hence, I just wanted the relay to switch open (not closed, duh) when the panel told it to via my zone list.
So far, nothing has happened no matter what I try. If my wiring is wrong, would someone please tell me what the heck to do differently? I'm beginning to think I've got a bad 4204.
Thanks in advance.
