I just purchased a ITI Concord system /keypad and am trying to install the existing components (door, motion and smoke) that were part on my Brinks BHS-2000F.
1) I am not sure where to connect the siren that came with the Brinks. The ITI manual has an option to connect a 8-ohm speaker in addition to 2 outputs. Output 2 indcates that this is typically for interior speakers. The wires on the brinks went to a +12V power and a COMM (ground). The 2 ITI Speaker connections at the panel do not indicate + or - charged. Anyone do a similar conversion and have any advise as to where to connect this siren?
2) The ITI manual notes that devices should have a 2k Ohm EOL Resistor inline per zone. Does the Brinks also require this so I would not need any additional or should I assume that there are no resisters inline and add one at the panel?
3) Any advise on connecting the Brinks Smoke/Heat 4 wire detector to the ITI? The manual only references ITI products.
4) Is there any danger in trial and error on the device connection wiring or by doing so could I damage the panel or device?
5) Any other general advice is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
