Thanks for the reply. I though the same, but I pulled both detectors out and took them to work with me. Just for kicks, while sitting in my car, I put the batteries back in. Those things are really loud when you are in a car. Both detectors sounded about 10 seconds after the batteries were installed.
: I did manage to figure out how to enter programming mode, and then how to decipher the programming sheet (I think). I also found a store with an old 5706, so I am going to try to match the dipswitches to put it on the same channel, and give it a go tonight.
