SYSTEM - III
Dynamic Receiver
by
 Sur-Gard

Superior Signal Management...

Utilizing DNIS, ANI & Caller ID signal management, System III responds faster to incoming calls, reducing on-line time and therefore, providing extensive savings to the central station. Lowering on-line time, even by 5 seconds per call, can result in extensive savings to your central station. These features all allow the operator to trace ghost, misprogrammed or malfunctioning diallers, as well as telephone line interference. System III also allows you to choose the handshakes you require in the order you need them. Therefore, the first handshake is always the correct handshake. Two-way audio and all other format/call specific options are also programmable in the 60 profiles. The Sur-Gard knowledge and expertise in receiver design has been translated into one of the most advanced systems available on the market today: introducing System III.

In System III you will find maximum efficiency, incredible savings to your central station and ultimately, the most technologically advanced receiving equipment available. Look for superior signal management, reduction in on-line time, control over of run-away/ ghost calls, an Intranet addressing system, optional full redundancy and superior expansion capability. System III is a new, dynamic receiver platform; quarter screen VGA liquid crystal display, with an easy to use scrolling menu for programming and quick operator response. Save time by responding faster to trouble situations. The new clean design is a reflection of this simple, but technologically advanced system.

User-Friendly Programming...

For on-screen programming, use the simple (multilanguage) scrolling menu and quarter display. Or remotely program via the RS-232 serial port or Ethernet port with Windows™ based console software. All programming on System III can be verified on the quarter screen VGA liquid crystal display or printed. Printer and computer events can also be displayed or printed for verification. A generous system memory allows for a 1000 event buffer per line card.

Upgrades Made Easy...

All new and future software enhancements and communication formats will be automatically flashed into Eproms by download software.

Self Diagnostics...

The heartbeat feature provides supervision of the automation software from the CPM3; if your automation system goes off-line, the CPM3 automatically detects this and can switch from the Ethernet port to a secondary Ethernet port, or two serial ports before going into manual mode. The CPM3 systematically polls each line card and in turn, the line cards supervise the CPM3 polling. The unit will also monitor printer activity to determine readiness and paper status.

Integral Redundancy

System III provides for the option of integral redundancy. Certification and approvals (UL-ULC) often require a “hot redundant” standby system. System III is able to achieve this within itself; by simply adding a second central processor (CPM3) and power supply (PSU3) you are able to have a system that is redundant onto itself.

Size...

Sur-Gard considers the importance of expandability and space limitations within the central monitoring facility. As your business grows, System III can expand with you – from 1 line to the full system capacity of 24 lines. Taking into consideration the space limitations often surrounding monitoring facilities, we have designed the unit in a compact, 4U 7”high per rack that can house a maximum of 12 line card modules.
